The 3rd edition of the

This updated version of The Osteoporosis Book provides clear answers to the questions my patients are asking. Well organized and very readable, the book will be useful for both patients and their doctors.

I feel after a certain age we should become knowledgeable about our bone health. I found The Osteoporosis Book – 3rd edition extremely informative, easy to read and understand. No big complicated terms that frustrates the reader. I particularly enjoyed the exercise chapter which motivated me to get going and do what I can to prevent osteoporosis starting now!  I learned a lot about osteoporosis that I had no idea about vitamins I can take and foods I should include in my diet for healthy living.

I like your book. It is well written, interesting and approachable. I like the way you wrote the introduction which highlights what is to come. The use of graphics in Chapter One make it very easy to understand what takes place in bone formation and resportion. At the end of each chapter the Key Point summaries help clarify and reinforce points or determine if I wanted to read the section at this point in time. Testosterone and men’s bones was of particular interest to my husband who noted it was well written and informative. I used the Quick Calcium Intake Check List to discover my intake of calcium was good at this point in my life. I love your exercise graphics as well and found the use of charts and graphics very helpful in understanding the effectiveness of each treatment. The living well with Osteoporosis reinforce what I know instinctively but seldom practice. Your book is easy to read and understand. I found it provides perspective to the issues surrounding prevention and treatment of osteoporosis for both men and women. Thank you.

I’ve read all three editions of The Osteoporosis Book and it just keeps getting more and more informative. Reading the personal stories, learning about the latest health information, and using the exercises to prevent falls makes your book a terrific resource for dealing with my osteoporosis. I look forward to following your website to see how to keep this disease and its treatments in perspective as we discover more about bone health, fall and fracture prevention.

My concern for my mother made me want to read all I could about osteoporosis, and the sections on prevention were very insightful and helpful.  My husband and I were also surprised to discover that osteoporosis is something that attacks men too!  We all love your exercise sections because the instructions are simple and straightforward, with cheery little drawings.  I’m recommending your book to everyone now!

Your book was very helpful, thank you. My friend was just diagnosed with osteoporosis. In seeking information for her I found men also are at risk of osteoporosis and should be properly assessed for any bone health issues. I found your book easy to read. It promotes self-management which I believe in, by providing perspective on issues such as choosing which medication offers what value, how much calcium and vitamin D is needed and the most helpful exercises for bones and balance. As well it offers my friend suggestions on different ways to use the mechanical advantage of her body positions or alignment to reduce physical stresses and increase her independence. It answered our questions and offered other resources for continued learning.
